Seasonal rental is only governed by the Civil Code (article 1713 and following). The duration, price and conditions of the contract are therefore set freely by the two parties. However, a number of rules must be observed. The seasonal rental is concluded as a temporary residence and pleasure. The premises can only be used as a dwelling, and the tenant cannot practice any commercial, craft or professional activity there. The tenant must be insured against rental risks (theft, fire, water damage). Subletting, even free provision to another person is prohibited.
